call repeatedly and hang up- extremely irritating...

I just called the number (319-377-7345) and they said they would remove my number from their system. Keeping my fingers crossed it will work.

received a call at 8:45pm on September 17, 2008 from 319-447-5488 (Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc..). Number would not display however I did do *69. They are a survey company exempt from the Do not call directory.

I have been receiving 3 to 5 calls a day from these folks. It rings 3 times then hangs up. I too did subscribe to the do not call list! I am for sure reporting this number.

Have been getting calls from Frank Magid today. Extremely annoying. We, also are supposedly on a Do Not Call List.....

I get at least 3 calls a day from this number. Have no idea how they got my number. I have been on the "do not call" registry for years and make sure that it is updated every couple of years. Why is this call getting thru??? No message either, just a dial tone when I do decide to answer.

Everyone should go to the https://www.donotcall.gov/ site and log the call as a complaint. If the FTC were flooded by complaints, then MAYBE they'd get OFF THEIR ASS and DO SOMETHING about this company!!!

I GOT SEVERAL CALLS AND NO MESSAGE LEFT EITHER TIME. BUT THE KICKER WAS THEY CALLED AT 9:18PM AND WOKE MY 6-1/2 YR OLD AND JUST UNDER 2YR OLD.

How do they get ahold of cell phone numbers? Isn't that illegal? I don't want people calling me on my cell phone.

I worked for this company. We honestly did opinion research (I guess they still do.) We were told to just go straight into our survey questions and let the "respondent" (YOU!) hang up on us. I had a huge problem with this since it is down-right discourteous and rude which, thank God, is why I didn't last. Best thing to do is wait until they finish asking their first question and simply tell them "Do not call here again" and hang up. Unless they've changed their policy since when I was there, they HAVE to mark your number as a "DO NOT CALL" number in their computer system and not call you again. Whether they will or not is another matter entirely. If you choose to 'participate' in one of their surveys, be warned that it will take 20-45 minutes, NOT the 2-15 minutes that we were told tell the people we called.

Can't we ALL just BOMBARD the do not call registry EVERY DAY ?.... call:: 888-382-1222 to report such calls if you are interested in making a change and/or stopping these calls ...Presently, it appears we merely complain in formats such as this; but, take no pro-active measures to STOP this Frank Magid.....By last count: Frank has all the "wins" and no "losses"....Don't we remain "losers" by taking no action ???

Thanks to "anoid" - March 2008, I called the number he/she listed for the Pres. of Company 952-470-5884 and left a message stating that I didn't want anyone calling me from the company he is associated with. If everyone did that, he would soon learn that we all have more pressing issues to attend to...Not to mention the fact that the survey information is probably being compiled and associated with your phone number to get "way-too-specific" data about your household. Americans have a right to privacy and we obviously do not know to what extent our information is being collected and detailed by Frank N. Magid Ass., Inc.

Frank M. Magid has phoned me 4 times today and not left a message. How can I get these calls to stop ?

I don't know how you think your exempt for the no call list but I find this to be as harassing as any other kind of call.

Thanks to caller ID, I don't have to waste time at all. If I don't immediately recognize the phone number, and there's no company name or person's name, I just ignore it. They can call all they want - I'll never pick up!

this is getting ridiculous..... I too just filed a complaint about the repeated phone calls from this number.

Fortunately I was unable to reach the phone before it stopped ringing. Caller ID plus internet searches led me to this site. Now I'll make sure not to answer the phone when I see this name or number pop up! Thanks for this site!

Very rude man would not identify himself or company just said he was doing a tv survey. When I told him I was on Do Not Call list he said hatefully that does not apply to them. I hung up and sent email to his company. I know that they won't reply but emails to them will waste their time as mine was with a RUDE employee........

Same song ... multiple obnoxious calls from (319) 447-5488 ID'd as "unavailable". The BBB gives Frank N. Magid ASsoicates, Inc. an "unsatisfactory" rating. This sounds like a perfect thing to bring up in our efforts to be as obnoxious unto them as they are unto us.

This company or individual calls my house everyday! I have not answered the phone call. Very annoying! Needs to stop.

We got calls from 319-447-5488 several times in the past few days.

Got a call from a friendly-sounding person at this number who said she wanted me to do a survey, which she said would take 15 minutes. I said OK although I was busy because I always feel sorry for these callers. Around the second question, she asked me the name of the county I live in, and then how to spell it, and then she said "it's not in my computer" and hung up. Evidently, it was OK for me to spend 15 minutes of my life helping them, but not OK for them to spend 5 seconds saying "apparently you aren't in our survey area after all; goodbye" or something similarly civil. Now I feel like a sap for being willing to do the survey in the first place.

I received a call for 319-447-5488, my caller I.D. show up as unavailable. I never pick up any calls that state unavailable, unknown, credit card companies or private number.

I picked up the phone after a few rings and got a dial tone...no caller i.d.

Let them know that your billing rate is 100 bucks per hour and that they would need to give you their address before the call can continue. Then let them know that they will be sent a bill for the time you spent with them.

Well congratulations Mr. Peter Cornstalk for really laying into people who work for survey research companies, but for the most part I'll bet you are talking to hard working people making little more than minimum wage. Yep, we really, really need a lot more terribly rude people like you in this country. Wow, they called you on the phone and you had to get your lazy butt off your couch. Probably the most exercise you and most of our fellow Americans get most days.

I got a call in the afternoon from this number. Our caller I.D. simply says "IOWA". A woman in a very monotone voice told me she was calling from (I didn't catch the company name) and was doing a survey on our household's "movie watching habits" or something to that effect. She quickly mentioned that she wasn't trying to "sell anything" (probably so I wouldn't hang up on her) but alas I was on my way out the door so I simply said "This is a bad time!" and hung up on her in mid sentence.

Very Annoying! They called 3 times over the period of 10/4 - 10/5 and no one was on the line. They called today, 10/6 and I laid into the guy on the phone about it and told them to take me off their list. All of this survey calls and political calls, I always lay into them and tell them I am on the do not call list and if they had a brain in their head they would figure people on the list don't want to be called about anything and they should not call regardless of the federal/state regulations that allow them to do so.
