Aholes called. Got them in my block list now. So it will just ring and ring w/o coming to me.

Any one got a fax number for them. I will load up my all black page and burn out their fricken fax machines.

Repeated calls but no message from "Central Research" today. I don't answer, just read their number on caller id.

I had a friend who lives in the city where this business is located and he suggested that he might go to the office of these parasites for a personal visit.

They feel safe in harrassing people because they stick to numbers which are outside their local area code, but this world is becoming smaller day by day.

If the government refuses to protect consumers from this type of persistent nuisance by simply insisting that certain individuals retain a special 'right' to persistently stalk you over your telephone line, I would tend to think that it is time for that consumer to stop that party from pestering them on a frequent basis. I pay for my phone service, there is nothing public about it. I can have anyone that behaves simularly at my premises prosecuted, fined and jailed for such behavior.

One other point - I take a constructive approach to this while I have the ability to trace back - Once a week, I go through caller ID to clean it up and I bring up the Do Not Call Registery on the computer and file every one of them as I delete them. But, with the new software that these companies can get, our ability to report them is coming to an end.

212-777-1645 is an alternate number. I tried to pick up to tell them not to call, then within a few min. received a call from an unknown caller and then I received a third call from the captioned number, so two calls from Central Research Associates within a half hour and one unknown caller. I belive that if you write to the address or call the number, you will be confirming your stuff - I also believe that Central Research means something to the effect (this is my guess) that they confirm the telephone numbers "research" and then they sell it off to a zillion companies, hence "central research." That's what I suspect. So if you write to them, why give them your address, too. Every time they call, I file with the DNC registry and someday we're all going to be rich when the Do Not Call Registery prosecutes them... if they prosecute any of them. I also think that you all have to file every time you get a call to get the DNC people off their asses and see that it's a real problem. Worse to come - a carpet cleaning service called my cell the other day and they show all but the last number - new security protection software they use for their privacy whilst they invade yours and spend the cell minutes that you pay for. How are we going to report incomplete numbers. Get on these Central Research guys before you lose the ability to trace them through your caller id.

There's no message, no opportunity to make them stop. Thanks to Dingoes posting, I called (212) 260-0070 and asked them to remove my number. How did they get it anyway? I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They're driving me mad!

Central Research Services - I was being called & hung up on, I received many calls in 2 days. Thanks to theses postings I called the company & they removed my from their auto call list. They said there is a glitch in their auto-dial system and there is about a 3% chance this happens.

I'm on the other end of this problem. I have a cell phone with a similar number as this one and I get call backs from irate people (understandably) thinking I called them as a crank caller. My cell number shows up on the caller id and the name "Central Research". I've been working with AT&T to get the problem resolved for months. They've been no help essentially as they can't figure it out and the only suggestion they have is for me to get a new cell phone number. I have also been working with my local police for assistance, but there's nothing they can do either. This may be a case of "spoofing" on the part of "Central Research", a real or pretend organization - I don't know. I'm going to have to get a new number, which is a huge business inconvenience for me, but I'm sure the calls you all are getting is a larger inconvenience. I would only ask that you understand that my phone caller id has been stolen and that it is not me personally repeatedly calling your number so if you dial me back and leave rude and threatening comments, you're blaming an innocent and wrong person. I have been receiving calls from Central, Reasear 212 529-5461 or 212 777-1645. They leave not message when they call. If they call while I am home when I pick up the phone they do not answer or say anything. I have called back and they won't answer their phone or it sounds busy.

my mom is getting called daily from 212-529-5461 and I asked her to contact CRS to be taken off the list.

I believe CRS is conducting political polling, but they are not doing a good job of this.

i have got alot of calls from this number i have blasted music yelled nothing will work they just keep calling what should i do.

I have called the number back and I do NOT get an answer !!! I have answered the phone yelling to remove this number from your list !!!! But they still keep calling. They NEVER leave a message !!!

The phone # 212-529-5461 has called me many times and I am on the DNC. The first time I received a call I was at dinner and told them I was on the DNC. Since then when my phone rings and there is no name showing, I just don't answer and they have yet to leave a message. I'm wondering what good does it do to be on the do not call if they ignore the rules. Any suggestions?

If you don't act like a psycho, they will just say "OK", confirm your number, and take you off the list.

I think the people on this message board that can't get their name off the list is because they call and probably start yelling or trying to argue. I called them last night, and very politely, very calmly informed the gentleman who answered that I was called several times that day by their company and hung up, and whatever list I was on could he please take me off. And guess what? He did exactly that, with no hassle or argument.

This firm has called several times in the last few days; hung up when phone was answered. They called tonight at 10:05 pm. I was so irritated and called the number listed. The woman tried to say they couldn't help calling so late b/c of different time zones. I pointed out that they are in NY and I'm in NC... same time zones!! I also pointed out that I'm on the DNC list, but she said that it does not apply to them. I told her NOT to call me again. We'll see

they have called six times in the last 2 days. Each time,the phone is answered they hang up

Crazzy, 5 calls within 3 hours. That's really annoying. I called this number 212-260-0070 and asked to be removed from their list.
