Female caller claimed to be calling from Bell Construction regarding work we would be doing for them. As we are a contractor and typically hire companies to work for US rather than the other way around, this sounded suspicious from the start. She asked to speak with our operations manager. When asked to clarify as to the nature of her business (we screen calls due to the high volume of telemarketers), she became abusive and threatening. She refused to answer questions and became openly insulting, saying "you obviously don't know how to answer phones for a construction company" and "don't worry your pretty little head", as she would find someone else to give business to.

Since the name on the caller ID did not match the name she gave me, and since the number was obviously not local, I believe this is a telemarketing agency, hired to use any means necessary, including lying, to speak with "decision-makers". This company has called before, and they have been rude and hostile on every occasion. Perhaps someone should let them know that being rude to the receptionist is the quickest way to ensure that you will NEVER speak to anyone else in the company nor get our business.
